Summary

Adrian Morphett holds the position of Principal Environmental Engineer with Earth Systems. In this role, Adrian conducts greenhouse gas and energy audits to comply with the relevant regulations and standards, and provides specialist technical and engineering consulting on biomass and bioenergy technologies, and industrial and commercial building energy efficiency projects.

Adrian has had a varied career spanning several industries including petrochemical, government, academia, energy design and mechanical drafting.

Adrian’s work in the petrochemical industry, in the specialised area of shutdown maintenance, included project planning and management roles. In academia, Adrian has provided advanced statistical analysis of research data and lectured in mechanical engineering. Adrian has presented at several conferences and authored a number of papers.

While completing his PhD Adrian worked as a project officer and business analyst with the Victorian Government. In this role, Adrian facilitated business requirements capturing, functional design and end-user testing of custom IT systems, amongst other expert advice.

Representative Experience

Adrian has worked on the following representative projects:

  • Assisted several Australian companies to identify and compile energy and emissions data from facilities under their operational control for reporting under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Act. Companies included gold mining and processing, transportation industry, power generation, lime production, bulk plastic container production, food retail, beverage retail, and brewery beer production, and tertiary sector (universities).
  • Conducted Emissions Intensive and Trade Exposed (EITE) assessments under the proposed Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS) for wood products plants.
  • Conducted or assisted in full-scope GHG audits in accordance with WBCSD GHG protocol and ISO 14064-1 for over 50 Australian business operations across multiple industries.
  • Conducted site energy audits and prepared energy audit reports (to AS/NZS 3598), including financial savings estimates, for over 13 sites.
  • Compiled and delivered custom transport and climate change knowledge, attitude and beliefs surveys of all employees in one of Australia’s largest national law firms, and a large NSW City Council.
  • Environmental policy reviews in accordance with ISO 14001 Environmental Management.
  • Conducted life cycle emissions analysis on paper emissions for green magazines.
  • Undertook a detailed review of energy consumption trends and energy efficiency opportunities for corporate datacentres.
